    We have an opportunity for a Graduate Design Engineer to join the Engineering team based in Grantham, Lincolnshire on a permanent basis.  


    In this role you will be working on diverse and challenging projects within our Fall Protection and Engineering departments collaborating with on-site technicians to develop and maintain access solutions across the UK skyline. See www.zarafagroup.com/fall-protection


    You will join a team of Design Engineers working from our Grantham office but will also be required to work on site occasionally, in our own manufacturing facility and the facilities of our suppliers.  You will receive ongoing personal development under our programme of continuous education (including support towards Chartership).  


    Your benefits package comprises:

    Your key responsibilities:

    - Carrying out Fall Protection System Design (including generating technical drawings) in line with current British Standards and regulations.

    - Carrying out site-based reviews of existing Fall Protection Systems.

    - You will take control of individual projects and see them through the design process to completion.

    - Verifying structural integrity of designed components.

    - Develop and maintain compliant inspection regimes for existing and new installations.

    - Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers and customers when necessary.

    - Preparing detailed technical reports in line with requirements from current British Standards.

    - Maintaining and updating existing library of 2D drawings/technical data.

    - Liaising with architects and design/project managers and providing them with necessary information.


    Ideally, you will have the following skills and experience:

    -  Qualification requirements – Bachelors Degree in structural or mechanical engineering (or similar)

    - At least one work placement experience (preferably in construction/engineering)

    -  Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks preferred)

    -  Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

    -  An enthusiasm for a technical challenge and a genuine passion for engineering.


    Working hours:

    Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

  • Fall Protection Technician

    As a Fall Protection Technician at Zarafa, you’ll be part of a growing team that’s driven by curiosity and creativity. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of delivering top-tier fall protection and height safety solutions throughout the UK. 


    Working at height, you will join a team responsible for installations, routine inspections and certification and repairs on a range of fall protection equipment. If you're passionate and want to grow in a role where you can add real value, we’d love to hear from you.

    Whilst this role is based predominantly in the South, we support customers across the UK so regular travel should be expected. Due to existing team members' locations, we require you to live in West London.

    This varied and interesting role requires a head for heights , a genuine interest in mechanical systems and ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools. The role will involve understanding mechanical aspects of the height safety equipment, which varies from site to site.


    What you would be doing…


    Your tasks would include:


    • Inspect and test fall protection equipment using gauges and other tools

    • Fault find and report back on safe means of repairs

    • Install fall protection equipment to relevant British Standards

    • Use a variety of tools to carry out maintenance and repair works on mechanical equipment on site

    • Complete site paperwork using tablets and communicating with the office team and members of the customers’ staff.

    Our requirements from you are:

    • You must have a strong mechanical background, ideally working on equipment such as safety lines, eye bolt anchors, handrails, ladders, walkways, or anchors

    • You must be able to demonstrate your competence with operating power tools

    • You will be professional, diligent and safety aware, able to follow procedures, delivering an exceptional quality of work in every single task, in line with our industry standards

    • Previous experience of working from height is desired but not essential, however you must be comfortable working outdoors and working at height (high-rise level)

    • Learning and developing your knowledge as required through formal education and hands on experience

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Flexibility and self-motivation with a strong work ethic and ability to manage deadlines

    • UK-wide travel

    • Right to work in the UK (with no restrictions)

    • UK Driving Licence

    Hours


    Whilst our operational hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, travel is required as part of the role so early starts and later finishes should be expected. Overtime may also be required during the week and at weekends. This role also includes occasional night work.
